FestAfrica 2010(Press Release) - The 8th annual African festival, “FestAfrica 2010,” will be held at Patterson Park in Baltimore , at the corner of Eastern Ave. and Linwood Ave. on Saturday Aug. 14 from Noon - 8 p.m. and Sunday Aug. 15 from Noon – 8p.m. Admission fee is $5 and free for ages 10 and under.

The 2-day celebration will welcome 5,000 or more attendees, featuring traditional African music and dance performances, fashion shows, arts & crafts, vendors, African cuisine, games, face painting, story telling, and a health fair. This is the official African festival for Baltimore City co-sponsored by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the Baltimore Office of Promotions and the Arts and the Maryland State Arts Council.

The theme for the festival is “Serving & Touring Africa,” promoting tourism and community service in Africa . With the latest addition of a Tourism Fair into the festival, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about areas of attractions, travel and tourism options in various African countries. The festival will also promote community service opportunities by highlighting non-profit organizations doing good work in Africa and supporting their work.
 
Opportunities for Sponsors, Vendors and Entertainers are Available! Also seeking Students for FestAfrica Summer Internship Program. This is ideal for students majoring in, Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism Public Relations, Event Planning and Human Resources.
