7th Annual Happy Nappy Day
In the beginning Happy Nappy Day and Poetry in the Park were separate events that eventually were merged together into a powerhouse of positive expression, and ideals of holistic beauty. Just last year the event included the "God Father of Poetry" legendary Gill Scott Heron sharing his prose with an audience that has now grown to 6,000 plus people, all wanting to experience the positive energy that flows through Baltimore on Happy Nappy Day. When asked what the drive is to produce an ever growing event like this Malaika simply replied, "So many days we spend just sitting in an office, or home doing this and that, I wanted to get back to that green energy, reminding people of the freedom around us."
